The Importance of Education to Our Lives and Our Country
First of all, I would like to say good morning to the distinguished guests, my respected teachers, and my dear friends. Today, in this great occasion, I would like to speech on the importance of education to our lives and our country in the future.
My dear friends,
Each of us must have something that we’re good at. Each of us must have something to offer. And we must discover what that is. This is what an education can do to help us.
Maybe one day, we could be a great writer, but we might not know it until we write an essay in our language class.
Maybe one day, we could be an inventor, but we might not know it until we do our project in our science class.
And no matter what we want to do with our life, I believe that we need a good education for every single one of those careers.
We cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job. We need to practice for it and learn for it.
And this is not only important for our life and our future. What we do to our education will determine the future of this country. The future of Indonesia depends on us.
We need the knowledge and problem-solving skills we learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies, and protect our environment.
We need the insights and critical thinking skills we gain in history class to fight poverty, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more peaceful.
We need the creativity we develop in all our classes to build new companies, that will create new jobs and boost our economy.
If we don’t study, if we quit on our school, we’re not only quitting on ourselves, but we’re also quitting on our country.
My dear friends,
I know it’s not always easy to do well in school. I know what it’s like. I know a lot of us have problems in their lives right now that can make it hard to focus on our school work. I get it.
Maybe your parents can’t give you the support that you need. Maybe you get inappropriate behavior at school. Maybe you don’t like subjects that you study. Maybe you don’t click with teachers that teach you. Also, maybe not all homework assignment seems relevant to your life right now. And maybe you don’t always succeed at everything the first time you try.
It doesn’t matter. Most successful people in the world got failures before they got success. Where you are right now doesn’t always determine where you will be later. You are the one who make your own future.
So if you get into trouble, that doesn’t mean you’re a troublemaker. It just means you need to try harder to act right.
If you get a bad grade, that doesn’t mean you’re stupid. It just means you need to spend more time to study.
No one is born being good at all things. We become good at things because of the hard work. We are not a number one athlete in the first time we play a new sport. We don’t speak smoothly in the first time we learn a new language. We need to practice.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or help when you need it. Asking for help doesn’t mean you are weak, but it shows you are strong enough to admit when you don’t know something, and then, allows you to learn something new.

Mungkin suatu hari kita bisa saja menjadi seorang penulis, namun, kita mungkin tidak akan pernah tahu sampai kita membuat sebuah tulisan dalam kelas bahasa kita.

Mungkin kamu tidak cocok dengan guru yang mengajarmu. Juga mungkin tidak semua pekerjaan rumah terlihat relevan dengan hidupmu saat ini. Good evening every body ,
First of all I want to thanks to God because I can stand in here and I get healty from God. And thanks to all my friend , my teacher and very happy we are all can to be in here. Today I want to speech and my title of my speech is How to make a good character of student. I want we are as a student can be a good student and have a attitude.
Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. The qualities of the student are of great impact to determine the student's bright future and career. So, who is a good student? What are the qualities of a good student? Historically, the term ‘student’ refers to anyone who learns something. However, the recent definition of a “student” is mostly used to refer to anyone who attends school, college, or university.
Again, what are the good qualities of a student? The list below shows the qualities of a good student.
1. Attitude: Basically, a good student possesses the ability and willingness to learn new subjects even if the subjects are not interesting.
2. Academic skills: Acquiring academic skills is the most important quality of a good student. Ability to read comprehensively, to write effectively, to speak fluently, and to communicate clearly are the key areas in which a student must be proficient. Having a good command in all these areas will make a student to shine in the class.
3. Ability: A good student has the ability to apply the results of his or her learning in to a creative way and achieve the goals.
4. Don’t use drugs , because drugs is very dangerous if we are use that we don’t get to be a good student and it can make our don’t have money,because money is very important and money is something that is readly and generaly accept by public in payment for goods service allable assets and for the payment for debts.
5. Self-Discipline: Discipline in managing the time is an important factor that every good student must possess. Often delaying the tasks, such as writing assignments, reading text books, etc, may negatively impact the ability of a student to achieve the goals.
6. Understanding rather than memorizing concepts: Resolving any doubts by asking about them on the spot is always a good thing. Several surveys suggest students must understand the concepts rather than just memorize them. The memorized facts and theories will stay in student's memory until they leave school, college, or university. Once out of school, the students will totally forget the core concepts that they had learnt.
Therefore, it is essential for a good student to understand the concepts. And then we must have a :
Motivation
To become a good student, you need to get motivated! Motivation can come from seeing the situation of many poor children around the world who are not lucky enough to get a proper education. This is a good thing to keep in mind when you find yourself not wanting to attend class or study at home. Another reason to get motivated to study is that you will enjoy a better quality of life as an educated person.
All you need is confidence! For that, one need to feel that we are enjoying and bettering themselves, study can be looked as a competition and divided as a team task. You should avoid forcing yourself to study, as this will make learning a chore and you will not feel like even opening your books. You may have many academically good students in your courses, try becoming friends with them (or encourage your fellow students to be better), and you'll be immersed in an academic environment which will help you feel motivated!
Concentration on studying

You need to pay attention in a class. Don't start chatting with your peers/friends when the teacher turns their back to you. Even better, don't associate with distracting people. If you feel distracted, take a short break of 15 minutes or less; maybe try to read an unrelated story book. But don't start sticking to the book if the time limit is over. Bookmark the page and then you can read it later on. You should also have a daily routine/timetable to guide you, but you must follow it through. It might be difficult to begin with, but hard beginnings make good endings.
